US tin plate imports down 34.2 percent in November from October

According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of tin plate totaled 71,325 mt in November last year, down 34.2 percent from October and up 39.7 percent year on year. By value, tin plate imports totaled $108.7 million in November this year compared to $150.8 million in October and $78.6 million in November 2023.

The US imported the most tin plate from the Netherlands in November with 25,593 mt compared to 19,155 mt in October and 21,029 mt in November 2023. Other top sources of imported tin plate in November include Germany with 19,668 mt, Taiwan with 7,163 mt, China with 7,070 mt, Canada with 5,417 mt, and Spain with 2,879 mt.
