Vietnam-based steel producer Hoa Phat Group has announced that in February this year it produced 416,000 mt of crude steel, down by 39.9 percent year on year. The company’s sales volume in February decreased by 32.9 percent year on year to 475,000 mt, including construction steel, steel billet and hot rolled coil. In particular, in the given month the company’s HRC production totaled 186,000 mt, while its construction steel output totaled 282,000 mt.
In addition, in the given month the company’s steel pipe production was 54,000 mt, down by 30.7 percent year on year, and its galvanized steel production totaled 27,000 mt.
In the January-February period this year, Hoa Phat produced 809,000 mt of crude steel, down 42 percent year on year. Its sales of construction steel, billet, and HRC amounted to 877,000 mt, down by 34 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. The company’s steel pipe and galvanized steel output in the given period came to 107,000 mt and 48,000 mt, respectively.
Meanwhile, in February, the company upgraded its hot rolled coil production line to increase output, improve quality and expand its product range.
