Vietnam’s steel imports down 17 percent in June from May

In June this year, Vietnam’s steel imports amounted to 1,283,652 mt, down 17.0 percent compared to May, while its scrap imports went up by 54.1 percent month on month to 455,841 mt, according to the data published by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.

In the first six months of the year, Vietnam’s steel imports increased by 48.0 percent year on year to 8.22 million mt, while its scrap import shipments amounted to 2.44 million mt in the given period, up by 4.3 percent year on year.
