Friday, 24 January 2025 11:55:41 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Stating that the political decisions of the coming months will have a profound impact on the Austrian economy and thus also on Austrian steelmaker Voestalpine AG, Herbert Eibensteiner, CEO of the company, said that the company needs a well-designed and comprehensive program to sustain successful operations and continue employing highly skilled professionals. His statement comes against the backdrop of Austria’s far-right Freedom Party being on the cusp of forming a coalition government with the People’s Party, triggering a wave of panic and uncertainty in the EU.

In order to maintain a competitive playing field in Austria, Mr. Eibensteiner stated that the company is calling on the government to ensure new corporate taxes, lower labor costs, less bureaucracy and affordable energy and electricity price through 2030.
