Wire consumption in Mexico down 21 percent in October

Apparent consumption of steel wire in Mexico decreased 21.0 percent year-over-year in October to 128,000 metric tons (mt), according to Canacero data, reviewed by SteelOrbis. Production decreased 22.3 percent in October, year-over-year, to 136,000 mt. In the given month, exports decreased 3.4 percent to 28,000 mt, while there is no import data.

In the January-October period, consumption decreased 12.0 percent to 1.48 million mt and production decreased 12.4 percent to 1.57 million mt. Exports decreased 8.5 percent to 272,000 mt.
