Wire rod exports from Brazil increase in July

Wire rod exports from Brazil have reached 17,700 mt in July, against 6,100 mt in June, according to customs.

The increase reflects exports to the US four times higher, 15,300 mt at $803/mt, while shipments to South American countries have reached 2,400 mt at $644/mt, both FOB conditions.

The exporters were ArcelorMittal (17,100 mt at $788/mt), Simec (500 mt at $520/mt), and Gerdau (100 mt at $887/mt).

Meanwhile, Brazil imported 8,300 mt of wire rod in July against 11,900 mt in June.

The origins of the imports were China (7,700 mt at $546/mt), Germany (500 mt at $1,024/mt), and Japan (100 mt at $1,103/mt), also FOB conditions.
