Hubei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel Co.'s (WISCO) cast steel plate (CSP) plant, a part of WISCO's hot rolling facilities, has lately been closed to allow the launch of a technology innovation project at the plant, as WISCO officials have reported.

WISCO's CSP plant started production operations in 1968. In order to adapt to market requirements, WISCO has decided to carry out the technology innovation project at the plant, aiming to increase the plant's annual steel plate production capacity from 750,000 mt to 1 million mt.
