Brazilian HDG export prices remain stable

The reference price of hot dipped galvanized products (HDG), for export from Brazil to South American countries is $900/mt today, stable from four weeks ago, CFR conditions, having the G40 grade and 4.75 mm thickness product as reference.

In August, Brazil exported 6,300 mt and imported 46,300 mt of HDG, against respectively 20,200 mt and 6,900 mt in July.

The destinations of the exports in August were South American countries (5,400 mt at $1,314/mt), and the US (900 mt at $806/mt), FOB conditions.

The exporters were Usiminas (5,100 mt at $1,320/mt), CSN (1,100 mt at $858/mt) and ArcelorMittal (100 mt at $1,163/mt).

The imports were from Asia (45,200 mt, of which 44,500 mt at $687/mt from China), and Europe (1,100 mt at $1,210/mt), also FOB conditions.

In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is currently sold by producers, in medium to large volumes, to end users or distributors, at BRL 6,120/mt ($1,105/mt), against $5,950/mt four weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI.
