Brazilian HRC export price increases in two weeks

The Brazilian producers are negotiating HRC exports with their South American clients in a reference price of $865/mt, up from $840/mt two weeks ago, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades.

In the Brazilian domestic market, HRC of the basic commercial grades is sold by producers, in medium to large volumes, at BRL 5,250/mt ($943/mt) against BRL 5,000/mt two weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI.

In September, Brazil exported 3,400 mt and imported 100,000 mt of HRC against 41,200 mt and 75,700 mt in August.

The exports of September were all destined to South America, shipped by ArcelorMittal (2,900 mt at $591/mt) and Usiminas (500 mt at $1,044/mt).

The imports were from China (81,100 mt at $555/mt), Egypt (18,600 mt at $613/mt), and South Korea (300 mt at $821/mt).
