Brazilian slabs export price stable week-on-week

According to sources, the reference price for the export of slabs from Brazil remains $550/mt, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades, for shipments in September.

Such price is stable from last week, although sources mentioned that at least one deal was effectively closed at $555/mt during the week.

In June Brazil exported 413,400 mt and imported 76,700 mt of slabs, against respectively 359,600 mt and 126,000 mt in May.

In June, Ternium exported 205,600 mt of slabs at $693/mt to the US, ArcelorMittal Tubarão exported 107,500 mt at $629/mt to the US, 49,200 mt at $644/mt to Mexico and 31,800 mt at $625/mt to Canada, while ArcelorMittal Pecem exported 19,300 mt at $589/mt to Mexico.

The imports were from Russia, 47,300 mt at $446/mt by CSN and 29,400 mt at $507/mt by Usiminas.
