Turkey’s flat steel re-rolling companies have been facing rather slow demand for coated and cold rolled steel lately and the pressure has even increased further lately with another slide in domestic and import hot rolled coil (HRC) prices. As a result, some of the re-rollers have cut their official offers, while some have preferred to give discounts for firm bidders.
Over the past week, domestic hot dip galvanized (HDG) prices have decreased by $10-20/mt to $820-840/mt ex-works for 0.5 mm Z100 material and $790-810/mt ex-works for 0.5 mm Z60-70. Export offers for Z100 HDG have been reported at $770-790/mt FOB, with some discounts possible. Turkey’s PPGI prices have declined by $10-15/mt in the local market to $950-990/mt ex-works, while similar levels have been reported for export destinations as well.
In the CRC segment, local prices for DC01 material are now at $710-740/mt ex-works, down $10-20/mt over the past week, while export prices are at $700-730/mt FOB for end-of-December shipments. In addition, there have been a few offers for import CRC, reported from China at $580-585/mt CFR for commercial grade and at $560-565/mt CFR for full hard material, SteelOrbis has learned.
