This week, local Romanian flat steel spot prices have moved sideways week on week amid the stability of demand at medium levels, with no rise in activity anticipated by market players. Nonetheless, the sole flat steel producer is cautious about returning to the market and has yet to begin producing or offering.
According to reports, local traders have been quoting hot and cold rolled sheet prices at €715-735/mt ex-warehouse and €820-835/mt ex-warehouse, respectively.
Similar stability is observed in offers on the import side, particularly those from Ukrainian suppliers, as no significant change has been observed in the EU flats market. Currently, hot rolled sheets and cold rolled sheets from Ukraine are offered at €650-660/mt DAP and €740-750/mt DAP. Meanwhile, although HRC offers from Turkish mills have declined by $10/mt compared to last week to $560-580/mt FOB, with freight costs at around €25/mt and the strengthening of the dollar, current offers for delivery to Romania are at €560-580/mt CFR, up from €555-570/mt CFR last week.
