Given the lack of notable movements in the domestic market, particularly on the demand side, Romanian flat steel spot traders have kept their offers stable week on week. The sole flat producer, in the meantime, continues to keep quiet regarding offers and the restart of its production, while keeping an eye on the market as some price increases have been seen in the EU flat steel market this week.

Over the past week, the local flat steel spot market has remained stable, with traders quoting hot rolled sheet and cold rolled sheet prices at €715-735/mt ex-warehouse and €820-835/mt ex-warehouse, respectively. On the other hand, sources say that the sole domestic flats producer, which is still inactive, is expected to offer hot rolled coil at €585-590/mt ex-works in the coming weeks.

Moreover, in the import segment, while offers are fairly stable, no deals have been recorded since Romanian flat steel traders reported abundant stocks, with little need to purchase. HRC offers from Turkey are unchanged compared to last week, with FOB prices at roughly $560-590/mt and freight costs at around €25/mt, resulting in price levels to Romania at around €555-570/mt CFR. Likewise, Ukraine's offers for hot rolled sheets and cold rolled sheets are stable week on week at €650-660/mt DAP and €740-750/mt DAP, respectively.
