Given the persistent slowdown in local trade, Romanian flat steel spot traders have had no choice but to lower their offer prices, while the sole Romanian producer has kept its offers stable. According to a representative of the producer, their offers will decrease in the coming weeks since there is practically no demand locally. “Most probably we will adjust prices down slightly next week because demand is almost zero,” a representative of the producer told SteelOrbis.
As a result of the significantly low demand, Romanian flat steel traders' pricing for hot rolled sheets (HRS) has decreased by €15/mt to €740-750/mt ex-warehouse compared to last week. Likewise, their cold rolled sheet (CRS) prices have fallen to €860-880/mt ex-warehouse, from around €860-900/mt ex-warehouse before.
On the other hand, the domestic flat steel producer in Romania has kept its hot rolled coil (HRC) and cold rolled coil (CRC) prices stable week on week at €615-620/mt ex-works and €715-720/mt ex-works respectively.
Similarly, the mill's domestic market pricing for HDG and PPGI is stable week on week at €785-790/mt ex-works and €1,065-1,070/mt ex-works, respectively.
In the import segment, according to sources, ex-Ukraine offers for HRS and CRS have decreased from the previous week by €30/mt and €20-25/mt to €620/mt DAP and €710-720/mt DAP, respectively. Meanwhile, Turkish HRC offers have decreased by €15-20/mt, and with FOB prices of $580-605/mt and freight costs of around €25/mt, arriving in Romania at roughly €565-585/mt CFR.
