Turkey-based re-rolling companies have been rather flexible in their pricing for coated and cold rolled coils (CRC), being under pressure from rather low demand in both domestic and overseas markets. In addition, China’s hot rolled coil (HRC) pricing had been aggressive for a while and, despite the recent rebound, its prices still remain low, at $530-535/mt CFR for September shipments. As a result, Turkey’s coated and CRC offers have softened and some suppliers are eager to provide additional discounts on firm bids.
Currently, Turkey’s local hot dip galvanized (HDG) prices are at $770-790/mt ex-works for 0.5 mm Z70, down $10/mt over the past week. As for exports, 0.5 mm Z100 material is on offer at $750-770/mt FOB, down $10/mt on the upper end. Domestic and export pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) prices are at $900-910/mt ex-works/FOB, down $10/mt, while some market players report $890/mt ex-works/FOB is also possible for some commercial grades.
Turkish CRC prices are mainly at $680-700/mt ex-works/FOB for domestic and overseas customers, down $10/mt over the past week. However, some sources have reported that additional $10-20/mt discounts minimum have been provided by some re-rollers in domestic transactions.
