Over the past month, Bulgarian domestic rebar prices have mostly fallen by BGN 10-20/mt (€5-10/mt) amid sluggish demand, while wire rod prices have increased by BGN 10/mt (€5/mt) against the backdrop of the relatively better demand for wire rod compared to that for other products.
Most local buyers are in a holiday mood and are postponing their import purchases as the EU next quota round will begin on October 1.

In the import segment, Turkish rebar and wire rod export offers to Bulgaria for August shipment are available at $575-580/mt FOB and $585-590/mt FOB, remaining stable for wire rod and down by $5/mt on the higher end for rebar over the past month. The estimated freight rate from Turkey to Bulgaria is around $20/mt (€18/mt). In addition, ex-Algeria rebar and wire rod offers are available at $560/mt FOB and $570/mt FOB respectively, equal to €565-575/mt CFR, depending on the volume. Moreover, ex-Egypt rebar stands at $570/mt FOB Alexandria, SteelOrbis has heard, translating to around €545-555/mt CFR depending on the tonnage.
Bulgaria's rebar export price has been reported at €600-610/mt CPT to Romania.
