SteelOrbis has been informed that today, October 17, an Iskenderun-based Turkish mill has fallen its rebar price by TRY 500/mt ($10/mt) to TRY 26,500/mt ($646/mt) ex-works, for an extended delivery period, as compared to Wednesday, October 9. The producer has also decreased its wire rod price by $10/mt to $630/mt ex-works, also for an extended delivery period. The main reason for the price cuts is the negative sentiment in the import scrap market and the ongoing currency fluctuations. The exchange rate is taken as $1 = TRY 34.18 as the mill itself has not indicated any specific exchange rate.
