SteelOrbis has been informed that today, September 30, an Iskenderun-based Turkish mill has hiked its rebar price by TRY 800/mt ($18/mt) to TRY 26,100/mt ($636/mt) ex-works, for an extended delivery period, compared to Tuesday, September 24. The producer has also raised its wire rod price by $20/mt to $630/mt ex-works, also for an extended delivery period. The main reasons for the increases are the relatively positive sentiments in the import scrap segment and the better demand due to post-earthquake construction activities. The exchange rate is taken as $1 = TRY 34.20 as the mill itself has not indicated any specific exchange rate.
