SteelOrbis has been informed that today, December 11, an Iskenderun-based Turkish mill has increased its rebar price by another TRY 500/mt ($11/mt) compared to yesterday to TRY 24,500/mt ($585/mt) ex-works, for an extended delivery period. In addition, the producer has also kept its wire rod price at $600/mt ex-works, also for an extended delivery period. The main reasons for the increased prices are still the relatively better demand expectations from Syria and the ongoing currency fluctuations. The exchange rate is taken as $1 = TRY 34.88 as the mill itself has not indicated any specific exchange rate.
