SteelOrbis has been informed that today, December 10, an Iskenderun-based Turkish mill has hiked its rebar price by TRY 200/mt ($4/mt) compared to yesterday to TRY 24,000/mt ($574/mt) ex-works, for an extended delivery period. In addition, the producer has also raised its wire rod price by $10/mt to $600/mt ex-works, also for an extended delivery period. The main reasons for the increased prices are the relatively better demand expectations from Syria and the ongoing currency fluctuations. The exchange rate is taken as $1 = TRY 34.84 as the mill itself has not indicated any specific exchange rate.
