Over the past week, most Turkish mills have kept their official wire rod prices stable in the Marmara and Izmir regions, while the official wire rod prices in the Thrace region have fallen by $20/mt in order to come into line with the general wire rod price levels in the rest of the country. Moreover, one Iskenderun-based mill has increased its wire rod price by $10/mt to $620/mt ex-works for an extended delivery period. Additional discounts are available only for serious buyers and cash payment.
According to sources, the workable wire rod prices in Turkey are at around $590-610/mt ex-works, stable over the past week depending on the region.
Most local buyers are postponing their new purchases and not in rush to restock material.
