Local Turkish official wire rod prices follow diverse trends

Over the past two weeks, official wire rod prices in Turkey have remained stable in the Thrace and Marmara regions, while falling by $10/mt in the Iskenderun region. In addition, wire rod prices in the Izmir region have slightly increased by $2.5/mt.

According to sources, the workable wire rod prices in Turkey are at around $585-605/mt ex-works, depending on the region.

The general sentiment on the demand side is negative. Kardemir issued its 6-27 mm SAE 1008-1010 grade wire rod price at $580/mt ex-works on Thursday, August 22. Sources report Kardemir has sold around 10,000-15,000 mt of wire rod.
