Official wire rod prices in Turkey have mostly risen by $5-15/mt amid the ongoing currency fluctuations and the positive sentiment in the import scrap price segment, as compared to Friday, October 4.

According to sources, the workable wire rod prices in Turkey are at around $625-630/mt ex-works, up by $5/mt on the lower end, depending on the region, over the same period.

One Iskenderun-based mill has kept its wire rod price stable at $630/mt ex-works so far. “The rebar and mesh grade wire rod prices are being offered at the same price lately, with the gap between these longs product prices being eliminated,” one source commented.
