Today, July 4, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have fallen by TRY 100/mt with minor changes on US dollar basis, against the backdrop of the ongoing currency fluctuations and sluggish demand, as compared to Monday, July 1. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 22,800-23,900/mt or $584-612/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region, at an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 32.56.
Icdas has kept its official dollar-based rebar price stable today at $620/mt ex-works. In addition, the workable rebar prices in the Izmir and Marmara regions still vary at $585-600/mt ex-works, for serious buyers and cash payment only.
One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its rebar price today at TRY 23,800/mt ($609/mt) ex-works for an extended delivery period. In addition, a few re-rollers in this region are offering rebar at TRY 23,800-24,000/mt ($609-614/mt) ex-warehouse. Sources report a few mills in this region are rolling 16 mm size rebar, while a few mills are rolling 8 mm size for now.
Some local traders are monitoring the small increases in the import scrap segment and are purchasing only in line with their daily needs.
