Official Turkish domestic wire rod prices mostly trend up

Over the past week, official wire rod prices in Turkey have mostly risen by $5-10/mt amid the relatively positive sentiment in the import scrap segment compared to Tuesday, September 10. Most local buyers exert pressure for additional discounts due to sluggish local demand.

According to sources, the workable wire rod prices in Turkey are at around $595-610/mt ex-works, depending on the region.

Turkey’s central bank is going to announce its new decision on interest rates tomorrow. Most local buyers are only purchasing in line with their daily needs and are monitoring the import scrap price trend.
