The reference price for the export of rebars by Brazilian producers is $900/mt against $880/mt four weeks ago, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, for sales to South American countries.
In August, Brazil exported 11,900 mt and imported 26,400 mt of rebars against respectively 21,700 mt and 3,300 mt in July.

The imports were from Egypt (25,800 mt at $617/mt), Turkey (500 mt at $623/mt), and a small volume was shipped from Germany, also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, rebars are offered by producers, in medium to large volumes, at BRL 5,800/mt ($1,058/mt), against BRL 5,750/mt four weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, for the supply in the country’s southeast and south regions.
The increase of rebar imports in August was expected and could remain for the next few months, as the product is not subject to the limiting quotas recently adopted by the foreign trade authorities.
