The exports of July were all destined to South American countries shipped by ArcelorMittal (17,200 mt at $676/mt) and Gerdau (4,500 mt at $662/mt), FOB conditions.
The imports were all from Turkey at $662/mt, also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, rebars are offered by producers in medium to large volumes, at BRL 5,750/mt ($1,042/mt) against BRL 5,900/mt four weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, for the supply in the country’s southeast and south regions.
The increase of rebar imports in July was expected and should remain for the upcoming months as the product is not subject to the limiting quotas recently adopted by the foreign trade authorities.
