Turkey’s Kardemir closes its wire rod sales

Late in the afternoon yesterday, May 12, Turkish integrated mill Kardemir closed its wire rod sales, which hit has opened on Wednesday, April 30. According to sources, the mill succeeded in selling around 15,000 mt, though the final tonnage has not been clarified by the time of publication.

Kardemir’s price for 5.5 mm SAE 1008-1010 grade wire rod stood at $580/mt ex-works, while its 6-27 mm wire rod of the same steel grade was offered at $565/mt ex-works. In addition, 28-56 mm wire rod of the same steel grade was offered at $585/mt ex-works. 

The wire rod prices excluded 20 percent VAT.
