Turkey’s Kardemir raised its rebar price to TRY 19,455/mt ($590/mt), excluding VAT, earlier today, June 26. Its new rebar price indicates an increase of TRY 205/mt, while falling by only $2/mt on US dollar basis, as compared to Thursday, June 6, against the backdrop of ongoing currency fluctuations. Approximately 25,000 mt of rebar have been traded given Kardemir’s advantageous payment terms, SteelOrbis has heard. As the rebar sales are still open, the final tonnage is expected to be clarified soon.

According to sources, the official rebar prices in the Marmara and Izmir regions vary at $585-605/mt ex-works, except for Icdas A.S.,

Kardemir sold its rebar at yesterday’s Turkish Central Bank-based exchange rate of $1 = TRY 32.96.
