Turkey’s Kardemir reduces its wire rod prices

Today, July 31, Turkish integrated mill Kardemir has cut its wire rod prices by $10/mt, as compared to its price issued on Wednesday, July 3, amid sluggish demand.

Accordingly, Kardemir’s price for 5.5 mm SAE 1008-1010 grade wire rod stands at $605/mt ex-works, while its 6-27 mm wire rod of the same steel grade is offered at $590/mt ex-works. In addition, 28-56 mm wire rod of the same steel grade is offered at $610/mt ex-works. According to sources, around 5,000 mt of wire rod has been traded so far.

Kardemir’s 6-27 mm wire rod price is within the workable price range for the same specifications in Turkey  which has varied at around $590-610/mt ex-works depending on the region. 

Wire rod prices exclude 20 percent VAT.
