As of today, November 25, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have decreased by TRY 100-400/mt ($4-11/mt) against the backdrop of the ongoing currency fluctuations and weaker import scrap prices, compared to Thursday, November 21. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 24,200-24,500/mt or $583-590/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region, at an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 34.59.
The official rebar prices in the Marmara and Izmir regions vary at $580-600/mt ex-works, including Icdas A.S.’s prices. while the workable rebar prices in these regions vary at $580-585/mt, down by $10/mt over the same period, for cash payment only.
One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its rebar price at TRY 25,000/mt ($602/mt) ex-works today. Moreover, a few re-rollers are also offering at TRY 24,500/mt ($590/mt) ex-warehouse, SteelOrbis has heard.
One Samsun-based mill is offering rebar at TRY 25,200/mt ($607/mt) ex-works today.
The general sentiment on the demand side is relatively negative due to the adverse weather conditions and weaker import scrap prices.
