Today, October 7, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have risen by TRY 300-500/mt ($5-11/mt) as compared to Thursday, October 3, against the backdrop of the ongoing currency fluctuations and the optimistic sentiment in the import scrap market. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 25,600-26,700/mt or $623-649/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region, at an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 34.26.
The workable rebar prices in the Marmara and Izmir regions vary at $625-645/mt ex-works, including prices from Icdas A.S., versus $620-635/mt last week, for serious buyers and cash payment only. A few mills in the Marmara region have hiked their rebar prices by $5/mt to $640-$645/mt ex-works today. In addition, Icdas A.S has hiked its rebar price by $10/mt to $630/mt ex-works today. One Izmir-based mill has also hiked its rebar price by $5/mt to $625/mt ex-works in the afternoon today.
One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its rebar price at TRY 26,750/mt ($651/mt) ex-works today. Moreover, another mill in this region is also offering rebar at the same price today.
