As of today, December 9, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have decreased by TRY 100/mt ($3-4/mt) in the Marmara and Iskenderun regions, while remaining stable in the local currency with minor changes on US dollar basis in the rest of the country, against the backdrop of the ongoing currency fluctuations and sluggish demand, compared to Thursday, December 5. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 23,500-23,700/mt or $563-567/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region, at an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 34.81.
The official rebar prices in the Marmara and Izmir regions vary at $565-580/mt ex-works, including Icdas A.S.’s prices, while the workable rebar prices in these regions vary at $560-565/mt ex-works, for cash payment only.
Two Iskenderun-based mills has issued their rebar prices at TRY 23,800/mt ($570/mt) ex-works today. According to sources, the workable rebar price in the Iskenderun region is at around $565/mt ex-works.
Most local buyers are not in a rush to restock material, instead monitoring the import scrap price trend.
