Today, August 5, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have mostly risen by TRY 100/mt, while remaining unchanged on Turkish lira basis in the Karabuk region, and all rebar spot prices indicate a decrease of $3-6/mt on US dollar basis against the backdrop of the ongoing currency fluctuations, as compared to Monday, July 29. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 23,300-24,200/mt or $582-605/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region, at an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 33.35.
The workable rebar prices in the Izmir and Marmara regions still vary at $585-600/mt ex-works, including prices from Icdas A.S., for serious buyers and cash payment only.
One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its rebar price at TRY 24,000/mt ($600/mt) ex-works today.
Kardemir has succeeded in selling around 18,000 mt of rebar at $588/mt ex-works and its rebar sales have remained open since Thursday, August 1, SteelOrbis has heard.
