Today, June 24, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have risen by TRY 200-300/mt, while falling by $3-7/mt on US dollar basis, amid ongoing currency fluctuations, as compared to Thursday, June 13. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 22,900-24,000/mt or $580-608/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region, at an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 32.90.
Icdas has kept its official dollar-based rebar price stable today at $620/mt ex-works. In addition, the workable rebar prices in the Izmir and Marmara regions vary at $580-600/mt ex-works, falling by $5/mt for serious buyers and cash payment after the Feast of Sacrifice holiday.
One Iskenderun-based mill is offering its rebar price today at TRY 24,000/mt ($608/mt) ex-works for an extended delivery period. Another mill in this region is also quoting the same price, while one re-roller's rebar price is available at TRY 23,800/mt ($603/mt) ex-warehouse, SteelOrbis has heard.
Most local buyers have just returned from the holiday, and so they are evaluating import scrap and billet prices before making any purchases.
