As of today, October 31, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have fallen by TRY 100-200/mt ($2-5/mt), except in the Iskenderun region where rebar spot prices have remained stable, as compared to October 24, against the backdrop of the weaker import scrap prices and sluggish demand. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 25,200-26,000/mt or $613-632/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region, at an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 34.26.
The workable rebar prices in the Marmara and Izmir regions vary at $610-625/mt ex-works, versus $620-630/mt ex-works last week, including prices from Icdas A.S., for cash payment only.
One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its rebar price at TRY 26,500/mt ($645/mt) ex-works today. In addition, another Iskenderun-based mill is offering rebar at TRY 26,300/mt ($640/mt) ex-works.
Most buyers are taking their time before concluding new purchases, while monitoring the import scrap price trend.
