As of today, November 4, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have remained in the local currency, with just minor changes on US dollar basis, except in the Karabuk region where rebar spot prices have risen by only TRY 100/mt ($1/mt) in order to offset currency fluctuations, all as compared to October 31. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 25,200-26,000/mt or $611-631/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region, at an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 34.35.
The workable rebar prices in the Marmara and Izmir regions vary at $610-620/mt ex-works, down by $5/mt on the higher end over the same, including prices from Icdas A.S., for cash payment only. A slight additional discount on the higher end is applicable for serious buyers only.
One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its rebar price at TRY 26,500/mt ($643/mt) ex-works today. In addition, a few Iskenderun-based re-rollers are also offering rebar at TRY 26,100-26,200/mt ($633-636/mt) ex-warehouse.
One Samsun-based mill is offering rebar at TRY 26,400/mt ($640/mt) ex-works today. Most buyers are exerting pressure for additional discounts while monitoring the US dollar-Turkish lira exchange rate ahead of the US elections taking place tomorrow.
As of today, rebar offers in the Turkish spot market are as follows:
