Turkish merchant bar export prices soften

Over the past week, most Turkish merchant bar re-rollers have decreased their official export prices by $10/mt on the higher end to $600-630/mt FOB amid sluggish international demand and weaker import scrap prices. Currently, official ex-Turkey equal angle offers are standing at $600-630/mt FOB, for December-early January shipments.

The SteelOrbis daily Turkish import billet reference price stands at $490-515/mt CFR, up by $10/mt on the lower end over the past week.

The general sentiment on the demand side is negative ahead of the holiday season in the US and Europe.
