Over the past two weeks, Turkish mills have mostly kept their official wire rod prices stable in the Thrace and Iskenderun regions, for extended delivery periods, while falling by $5/mt in the rest of the country. A few mills are applying aggressive pricing strategies in order to generate cash and are giving sizeable discounts for serious buyers.

One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its wire rod price at $610/mt ex-works.  According to sources, the workable wire rod prices are at around $590-620/mt ex-works depending on the region.

Most buyers are taking their time before making new purchases while monitoring the import scrap price trend.
