General price range in local Turkish scrap market remains stable

Friday, 18 October 2024 17:33:17 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Despite the revisions announced by a few mills over past weeks, the general price range in the Turkish domestic scrap market has remained unchanged. The sharp fluctuation observed in the deep sea segment since the beginning of the current month has had little impact on local scrap prices. “Buyers continue to secure their domestic scrap tonnages and determine their strategies according to their needs, and they are not risking scrap flow by making rapid price changes,” a source commented.

The general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap has remained stable at TRY 11,800-13,300/mt in the local currency, while the dollar-based quotations have also remained stable at $345-388/mt.
