India’s government-run steel producer Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited is seeking global suppliers for 375,000 mt of pulverised coal injection (PCI) grade coal, company sources said on Tuesday, July 30.

The sources said that the last date for submission of bids from prospective global suppliers has been fixed for August 12.

RINL will tentatively accept deliveries in lots from August 2024 onwards.

Overseas PCI coal producers owning, managing and controlling coal mines and producing washed or unwashed PCI coal would be eligible to participate in the tendering process.

Overseas PCI coal suppliers offering PCI coal produced by overseas producers, duly backed by a Letter of Authority of the concerned PCI coal producer, specifically authorizing the said PCI coal supplier, will be eligible to submit offers and participate in the tendering.

Such suppliers will need to commit minimum assured supplies of 75,000 mt, the sources said.
