During the given week, scrap prices in the Chinese domestic market have edged up slightly amid rebounding ferrous metal futures prices. Finished steel prices have been bolstered by increasing futures prices, following the news regarding further stimuli from the central bank. At the same time, scrap supplies arriving in the market have been at relatively low levels, also bolstering prices to a certain degree. It is expected that scrap prices in the Chinese market will see a rising trend in the coming week.
The latest ex-Japan HS scrap tradable prices have added $5/mt over the past week to at $325-335/mt CFR.
