Local Turkish scrap market follows diverse trends

Friday, 15 November 2024 15:50:14 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Turkish mills have followed diverse pricing strategies in regard to their domestic scrap purchase prices over the past week. Two producers have cut their prices by TRY 150-600/mt or $3-18/mt, while one producer has increased its price by TRY 200-350/mt or $5-10/mt. Other producers have kept their prices in the local currency unchanged over the past week, with a stability or a $1/mt decline mostly seen in their US dollar-based prices.

Despite the revisions, the general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap is still at TRY 11,800-13,150/mt in the local currency, unchanged week on week. The dollar-based quotations have also moved sideways, at $343-383/mt.
