No change in local Turkish scrap price range

Friday, 04 October 2024 17:11:15 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Despite the upward trend observed in the deep sea and short sea scrap segments, no adjustments have been made by Turkish mills in their domestic scrap purchase prices, apart from that made by one mill. The producer in question cut its DKP grade price by TRY 300/mt or $1/mt, but this caused no change in the general price range. However, if the import scrap segment continues its uptrend in the coming week, the local Turkish scrap market is also expected to follow suit.

The general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap has remained stable at TRY 11,800-13,300/mt in the local currency. Dollar-based prices have moved down to $345-388/mt, from $346-389/mt recorded on September 27.
