Turkey’s domestic scrap market remains stable on lira basis

Friday, 28 June 2024 17:51:20 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Turkey’s domestic scrap market has remained stable over the past two weeks in the local currency, but the depreciation of the lira is hitting dollar-based prices which are now $4-7/mt lower than the levels recorded before the holiday (June 16-23).

The general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap is now at TRY 11,800-13,150/mt in the local currency. Dollar-based quotations have moved down to $360-401/mt, from the range of $366-408/mt recorded before the holiday.
