Turkey’s domestic scrap prices unchanged on lira basis

Friday, 12 July 2024 15:54:41 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Turkey’s domestic scrap market has mostly remained stable over the past two weeks in the local currency. The depreciation of the Turkish currency means that dollar-based prices are now $2-3/mt lower than the levels recorded at the end of June. Meanwhile, some producers have increased their purchase prices by TRY 300-400/mt, matched by a rise of $7-10/mt rise on dollar basis.

Despite the changes in some prices, the general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap is still at TRY 11,800-13,150/mt in the local currency, with dollar-based prices softening to $357-398/mt from the range of $360-401/mt.
