Vietnamese import scrap market is still characterised as weak, not much interest is shown to import scrap offers from Japan and the US. The positive news coming out of China had not fully reflected to Vietnamese market, players remain cautious.

SteelOrbis has learned that offers for Japanese H2 scrap to Vietnam are still at around $360-365/mt CFR, stable week on week. However, domestic scrap prices in Vietnam are found more attractive by the buyers, hence interest for Japanese scrap is still on the low side.

Offers for ex-US bulk HMS I/II 80:20 scrap are now at around $365-370/mt CFR Vietnam, $2/mt lower as compared to the levels recorded last week.
