Over the past two weeks, there has been no movement in the Turkish pipe market, despite the lack of demand in the domestic market and Turkey's financial difficulties, which continue to put pressure on both customers and suppliers. However, since hot rolled coil (HRC) market prices have fallen somewhat this week, many pipe suppliers consider that prices will not remain stabvle and they are ready to offer discounts to existing customers.
Currently, prices in the local hollow section market are around $650-670/mt ex-works, unchanged week on week.
“There is no change in the market in terms of pricing and circumstances since there are no signs of improvement in the outlook. HRC prices are declining, financial concerns remain, and the summer slows things down,” a pipe maker told SteelOrbis.
Similarly, in the export markets, workable prices are currently at around $650-680/mt FOB, stable over the past week. The most recent offer from a large mill was reported at $650/mt FOB, while several medium-sized suppliers have quoted at $660-680/mt FOB.
