Baosteel and Japan’s Kobelco Investment jointly establish Baosteel Kobelco Automotive Aluminum Sheet (Shanghai) Co.

Major Chinese steelmaker Baosteel and Japan’s Kobelco Investment Co., Ltd. have jointly established Baosteel Kobelco Automotive Aluminum Sheet (Shanghai) Co., heralding a major change in the future of lightweight materials in auto manufacturing with the combination of these two giant companies.

Baosteel Kobelco Automotive Aluminum Sheet has a registered capital of approximately RMB 1.0 billion ($0.14 billion) and its business scope covers metal surface treatment and heat treatment processing, sales of high-performance non-ferrous metals and alloy materials, and import and export of goods.
