Brazilian civil construction sector shows stability in July

Thursday, 29 August 2024 18:52:42 (GMT+3)   |   Sao Paulo

According to the industry association CNI, the level of activity and the number of workers in the Brazilian civil construction sector were stable from June to July 2024. The result can be considered positive for both indicators, as they were above expectations of analysts.

However, the level of confidence is less intense and widespread. In August 2024, the civil construction entrepreneurs were less optimistic with the current conditions, but optimistic concerning the perspectives for the upcoming months.

Expectations for the next six months remain positive, but with more moderate optimism for the level of activity for new projects and services and for the purchase of raw materials.

In July, the utilization rate of the operational capacity of the sector declined from June by one percentage point to 67 percent, an index lower than in July 2023 and July 2022, when both indexes were 68 percent.

The research was developed between August 1 and 9, covering 318 civil construction companies.
